Five Leaf Water Vine

Five leaf water vine

will you be mine?

throw to me your curling line

the grip of strangling colubrine

Twisting round a dwarf plum pine

your barbed and reaching tine,

beneath your leaves, a holy sign

the bloom of musty argentine

Knifing through an arm thick line

gushing out a water wine

a drunken feast of souls in trine

this forest loving concubine

Five leaf water vine!

in my heart you'll ever shine

I'll spin the dream when you are mine

then death will see us disentwine
